Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy came together with the students at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Answering the questions of the students, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, "It is a privilege to be a student at Selçuk University."

The first Rector-Student Meeting was held at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Emphasizing that the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences has never compromised its culture and identity, Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said, "You are lucky to study here. We are working day and night for you to receive education under better conditions. Science and culture have always been preserved at Selçuk University. We strive for our students to have wider opportunities in social and cultural fields. It is a privilege to be a student at Selçuk University. Selçuk University has become a growing institution with its graduates as well as its education and institutional structure. We are happy to see Selçuk University graduates all over Turkey such as Bekir Bozdağ, Minister of Justice, Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, and Uğur İbrahim Altay, Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality." 

"OUR PRIORITY IS EDUCATION"

Stating that they take care to provide the necessary connections for students to become active in the international arena and to improve themselves, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, "Our priority is education. We do not want our students to fall behind in their studies. We plan to organize activities that will highlight our own cultural identity in the cultural events that will spread over 21 days in May. There will be theater, cinema, concerts and sports events. We will not include high-cost organizations. We see it appropriate to transfer the money to be spent here as support for the research of our academicians and students."

"WE ARE OBLIGED TO RAISE THE CHILDREN OF THIS NATION WELL"

Pointing out that it should not be forgotten that the geography of the heart in Iraq is waiting for the Turks with laments and poems, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, "It is necessary to protect them. If you act with national consciousness, all the doors of this state will open to you. We are trying to protect the rights of orphans and give you a better education. This is the nation. We are obliged to raise the children of this nation well. Our academics should also know who they are educating and where they are educating them. Our geography is not a simple region. If we are raising young people under the moon-starred flag, we need to act with this sense of responsibility from the moment we step into the classroom. We have to make students love this campus."
