'Talking with Health' Symposium was held at Selcuk University

Selçuk University Vocational School of Health Services organised "Talking with Health Symposium" on "Medical Error - Malpractice in Health".

Academicians and students participated in the "IV. Symposium of "Talking with Health" held at SU Sultan Alparslan Cultural Centre Malazgirt Hall.

In the programme, Prof. Dr. Kamil Hakan Doğan, Department of Forensic Medicine, Department of Internal Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, SU Faculty of Medicine, gave a lecture on "Medical Malpractice in terms of Auxiliary Health Personnel", and Dr. Lecturer Ahmet Bayrak, Physiotherapy Programme, Department of Therapy and Rehabilitation, Vocational School of Health Services, gave a lecture on "Medical Malpractice in Health". Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bayrak shared his knowledge and experience with the students on "Legal Perspective on Medical Errors in Health".

Symposium speakers stated that "Medical Error in Health - Malpractice" is defined as medical malpractice in the process of diagnosis, clarification and consent and treatment. The speakers stated that malpractice is important for both the patient and the physician in medical, health, criminal and law of obligations, and that medical malpractice and the consequences associated with it differ for each situation.

Prof. Dr. Gülşin Arslan, Director of SU Vocational School of Health Services, said that they organised the programme in order to increase the level of awareness and consciousness in the fight against malpractice and emphasised that students should especially know professional ethics and related legislation.
