Cooperation in the fight against violence at Selçuk University
A cooperation protocol was signed between Selçuk University (SU) and the Foundation for Combating Violence (HEGEM) for social, cultural, artistic, educational and sports activities.
The protocol aims to carry out studies in line with the objectives and principles to be specified in the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey, the Eleventh Development Plan of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, the Human Rights Action Plan and the relevant legislation to be enacted afterwards, and to develop and implement effective service models for the social reintegration of crime victims and perpetrators on the axis of civilian struggle against violence.
Within the framework of the protocol, which aims to carry out scientific, social, cultural, artistic, educational and sportive activity projects, it is planned to develop effective service models on "human rights, preventive guidance, protective law, restorative justice and healthy aging".
Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy stated the importance of the protocol in terms of combating violence and raising awareness at the protocol ceremony held at the rectorate office. Stating that Selçuk University is among the strongest institutions in the region in terms of education, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, "In this context, we believe that we will contribute to the work of HEGEM Foundation. We hope that our cooperation will raise awareness about the fight against violence both for our students and for the region. I wish our protocol to be auspicious and auspicious."
Prof. Dr. Şükrü Ada, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of HEGEM Foundation, stated that Selçuk University has a deep-rooted history in the region with its strong academic staff. Explaining that they are happy to sign an important protocol with Selçuk University, Prof. Dr. Ada said, "We are happy to sign a protocol with Selçuk University within the scope of ensuring cooperation between HEGEM Foundation, Ministry of Justice and 27 universities. We would like to express our gratitude to Mr. Rector for his contribution and support."
After the speeches, Rector Prof. Dr. Aksoy and Prof. Dr. Ada, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, signed the cooperation protocol.
