Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy made the opening speech of the International Finance and Tax Congress organized online by Selçuk University together with the Tax Inspectors Association and the Economic Development and Social Research Institute. Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said: “It is very valuable for us that the University is a home of science, at the same time, the scientists of the future are revealed and involved in such studies, and on the other hand, the studies within the University are shared with the public. I believe that the discussions that will take place at the congress and the knowledge and experience of experts in this field will make serious contributions to the understanding of the subject.”

Nihat Etik, Deputy Chairman of the Tax Audit Board, said: "We call tax audit the whole of the work carried out to determine whether the provisions of the tax laws are complied with, whether the profit in the financial balance sheet and income statement and the tax calculated accordingly are calculated correctly, and whether the transactions reflect the truth."

Tax Inspectors Association President Ahmet Halis Başli said: “The tax revenues collected by the state from its citizens based on its sovereign power have the highest share in public revenues and also play an active role in determining financial policies. "The primary goal to be achieved through fiscal policies is economic growth."

The International Congress of Finance and Tax where Selcuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, Tax Inspectors Association President Ahmet Halis Başlı and Economic Development and Social Research Institute President Dr. Mustafa Latif Emek is on the honorary board, co-chaired by Haldun Soydal, Selçuk University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Head of Economics Department Ministry of Treasury and Finance Chief Tax Inspector Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Göktuğ Kaya will end on March 11, 2023.
