We are already getting excited."

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken and Prof. Dr. İlhan Çiftci, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Kamil Beşoluk and senate members attended the meeting.

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy made a statement after the senate and board of directors meeting and thanked the senate members for the decision to hold the 2021-2022 academic year face-to-face. Stating that they will act in line with the decisions taken by the state in the fight against the epidemic, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, "We will have the opportunity to re-evaluate this decision according to the course of the epidemic. As the university and the administration, we want our young people to return to school. Our professors also supported our decision in this direction. We will be happy to see our young people on our campus. We are already getting excited. We are looking forward to seeing them."

Prof. Dr. Aksoy told the students to be sensitive about getting vaccinated and said, "Our students should please pay attention to the sensitivities of our state regarding vaccination. We are opening our university, we recommend that they do not threaten the health of our other friends, they should come to our campus as vaccinated. Let's not have problems in the next process. On the other hand, if there is a situation of necessity regarding vaccination and a decision is taken in this direction, we are obliged to comply with it. We have done all kinds of hygienic work in the dormitories. We plan to open our dormitories within the framework of the rules."

Regarding the organization of the Senate Meeting at Doğanhisar Vocational School, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, "Of course, as a university, we are the university with the most schools in the districts in Turkey. In this sense, the cooperation between local administrations, administrators of our schools in the district and our students solves our problems in many areas and lightens our burden. Various building repairs, renovations and the integration of students with the society and the harmonization of the social fabric can only be achieved through such cooperation. I would like to thank Doğanhisar Mayor Süleyman Pekmez, District Governor Anıl Adıgüzel and Doğanhisar Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Hasan Hüseyin Doğan for their hospitality."

Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy and the accompanying faculty members then accompanied the nature walk organized in Gölcük area with the participation of citizens.
