Selçuk University Faculty of Islamic Sciences is hosting the International Symposium on the Phenomenon of Revelation in the Context of Essence and Reality. With the participation of many scientists from countries such as America, Malaysia, South Africa, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Algeria, 125 papers will be presented in the 2-day symposium.

The opening speech of the International Symposium on the Phenomenon of Revelation in the Context of Nature and Truth held at Selçuk University Faculty of Islamic Sciences was made by Prof. Dr. Ramazan Altıntaş, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences. Altıntaş said, "There is no dark age in the history of humanity. Every age is actually dark for those who close their eyes and block their ears to the light of revelation. Today, humanity needs the guidance and guidance of Islamic revelation on many issues ranging from family life, social justice, economics, international relations and human rights. In this symposium, which will last for two days, 125 papers will be presented and discussed with many scientists from Turkey and abroad, especially from countries such as America, Malaysia, South Africa, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Algeria. In the symposium; the role of the Prophet in revelation, the nature and transmission of revelation, revelation in terms of epistemology, logic and philosophy, the understanding of revelation by Islamic theologians, inspiration, the relationship between divine knowledge and revelation, the understanding of revelation in Sufism, the relationship between revelation and sunnah, revelation in the context of doctrines and sects, ways of reading revelation, language, qiraat and tafsir, person-centered understanding of revelation, understanding of revelation in different sects."  Konya Provincial Mufti Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Öge said, "The word revelation, which means secret and rapid notification, is expressed in many different ways in the Qur'an. In the symposium, revelation will be discussed both in terms of its uses in the Holy Quran and its reflections on the world of Islamic thought. I would like to thank those who contributed to the organization of the symposium."

"WE MUST WORK FOR JUSTICE, PEACE AND TOLERANCE TO PREVAIL"

After the live connections with Prof. Dr. Kudayberd Kocabekov, Rector of Kyrgyzstan Osh State University and Prof. Dr. Karımov Jamolıtdın, Director of Imam Maturidi International Research Center, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat, Vice Rector of Selçuk University took the floor. Prof. Dr. Polat said, "Revelation is an unshakable part of our faith. The orders, judgments and information that our Lord sent as mercy to the worlds through our Prophet reached us through revelation and our holy book, the Holy Qur'an, has been a guide for us. Having a holy book that begins with the command "Read!", it is befitting for us to act with the awareness of being a servant worthy of our Lord and an ummah worthy of His Prophet. As those who know that the world is the field of the hereafter, we should strive to make each day more productive than the previous one. We should work for the end of injustices, oppressions and inequalities in the world and for the justice, peace and tolerance offered by Islam to dominate the whole world."

"THERE IS NO POINT IN TALKING WITHOUT LIVING THE VALUES YOU BELIEVE IN WELL"

Dr. Burhan İşliyen, Vice President of Religious Affairs, said: "The most deprived, the most depressed, the most orphaned book in Turkey and in the world is the Holy Quran. Those who talk about the Holy Quran usually do not know the Holy Quran. The rate of reading the Holy Quran with understanding is not 40 percent. People who are incapable of reading the Holy Quran even once are talking about the Sunnah and criticizing it. If the society is to be transformed, it will be through the meeting of our teachers who understand the Qur'an and the Sunnah correctly with the society. Before discussing the status of the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah, we need to talk about how we should reflect them in our lives.  If a Muslim is not witnessed as the most just, honest and beautiful person, this is a very serious problem. If there are those who move away from Allah and the Prophet because of our mistakes, can we be held responsible for that? Why don't the scholars and teachers of Muslims raise their voices when a young person goes to kufr and disbelief due to ideological obsessions? There is no point in talking unless you live the values you believe in well. When human beings think they are enough, they start to become horny. He thinks that his seat and position is something. Allah gives opportunities and he becomes horny. Sometimes there is scientific and administrative blindness. Sometimes wealth, lust, authority and knowledge become a veil in front of one's eyes. He thinks he has a say in everything." 

OPENING OF THE LIBRARY OF THE FACULTY OF ISLAMIC SCIENCES

Within the scope of the program, Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat, Vice President of Religious Affairs Dr. Burhan İşliyen, Konya Chief Public Prosecutor Ramazan Solmaz, Konya Provincial Mufti Assoc. Dr. Ali Öge, Konya Provincial Mufti Assoc. Dr. Ali Öge, Selçuklu District Mufti Bekir Derin, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences Prof. Dr. Ramazan Altıntaş also opened the library, which was brought to the Faculty of Islamic Sciences with the support of philanthropists. The library, which contains approximately 9 thousand cataloged books and around 2 thousand books ready to be cataloged, includes books in the fields of basic Islamic sciences, the Holy Quran, Arabic, Qiraat sciences, tafsir, hadith, fiqh, Sufism, history of sects, philosophy religious sciences, Islamic arts, Islamic civilization, history, philosophy of religion, sociology and psychology.
