By  Selçuk University, within the scope of Spring Festivals in Selçuk, "Hz. Mevlana Tolerance March” was held in commemoration of the 794th anniversary of Mevlana's visit to Konya.

The march, which started near Alaeddin Hill and ended in Mevlana Square, was attended by Selçuk University Rector Prof. Metin Aksoy, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Uzbaş, Selçuk University Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat, General Secretary Prof. Dr. Kamil Beşoluk, Sports Services General Manager Mehmet Baykan, Konya Youth and Sports Provincial Director Abdurrahman Şahin, Konya Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Abdüssettar Yarar, deans, faculty members, national athletes and students attended.

Selcuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, in his speech, said, “The meaning and importance of this program, which we organized within the scope of the Spring Festival, is very valuable to us. It shows us once again how valuable an understanding and concept tolerance, which is a sensitive issue, is, especially when we consider the agenda of the global world. We had the opportunity to remind Mevlana's message to the whole Türkiye and the world in his presence. The program carried out to raise awareness is very important for us. We held this march with our students, athletes and faculty members to raise awareness and remind the whole world of tolerance. “We thank you very much for your participation.” said.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Uzbaş said, “We are together in a beautiful walk on the 794th anniversary of Mevlana's visit to Konya. Being together with our young people in beautiful weather makes us all happy and satisfied. Our esteemed Rector organized the program. We would like to thank Selçuk University on behalf of Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy. I hope it will be beneficial.” he said.

Mehmet Baykan, General Director of Sports Services, said: "We are in the presence of Hz. Mevlana. As a Konyalı who considers himself responsible for conveying the messages of Hz. Mevlana from Konya, the city of Mevlana, to our country and the world, we always try to give a whole message by identifying the thoughts of Hz. Mevlana with the 'fair play' understanding of sports in our sports community. In order to repeat these messages, we came running upon the invitation of Selçuk University. I would like to thank Mr. Rector for the event."

The program ended with a visit to Mevlana Museum after the prayer.
