Prevention and Treatment National Platform (KORTUP) 1st Period Evaluation Meeting was hosted by Selçuk University. In the meeting attended by platform stakeholders and members, the development of 7 different vaccines including bacterial, viral and parasitic vaccines within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1004 Project was discussed.

The meeting, which was held at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Small Animal Hospital Mehmet Akif Ersoy Conference Hall, was attended by Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Prof. Dr. Seyfullah Haliloğlu, Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Mustafa Orhun Dayan, project coordinators Prof. Dr. İhsan Gürsel, Prof. Dr. Osman Erganiş, Prof. Dr. Hakan Akbulut, Prof. Dr. Ayça Sayı Yazgan, Prof. Dr. Mert Döşkaya, Prof. Dr. Mehmet İnan, Prof. Nilgün Özdural (Atab. Prof. Dr. Osman Erganiş, Prof. Dr. Hakan Akbulut, Prof. Dr. Ayça Sayı Yazgan, Prof. Dr. Mert Döşkaya, Prof. Dr. Mehmet İnan, Nilgün Özdural (Atabay R&D Director), Dr. Zeynep Ahsen Koçer, Mustafa Akın (Petroyag R&D Director), faculty members, platform stakeholders and members and researchers.

In his speech at the opening of the meeting, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken said that TÜBİTAK 1004 Project is an internationally respected and prestigious program that increases Turkey's competitiveness in line with national and international interests. In this sense, Prof. Dr. Eken stated that the work carried out with the National Platform for Prevention and Treatment is also valuable and said, "We are happy and proud to be together with respected and distinguished scientists. Our university has been conducting important vaccine studies in recent years. We believe that the studies to be presented by our university and the National Platform for Prevention and Treatment will bring our country to a place in the world. Although the studies carried out are in our country, the results of the study will benefit all humanity. I hope that the consultations and exchanges of views at the meeting will enrich the project; I wish it to be instrumental for good and contribute to humanity."

Prof. Dr. Osman Erganiş, Director of Selçuk University Vaccine Development Application and Research Center, said, "Today, as the National Platform for Prevention and Treatment, we came together for the evaluation meeting of the first 6-month period of the project, which we started in September 2021 as the National Platform for Prevention and Treatment, and which came to the stage of being supported in May 2023 upon the TÜBİTAK call. We have received many of our devices in this first period. Hopefully, we will continue our work from now on. I would like to thank you for holding the meeting at Selçuk University and for your participation. I would like to thank my university and the university administration for their support."

Director of Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center and Program Manager of the National Platform for Prevention and Treatment Prof. Dr. İhsan Gürsel said that Selçuk University and Prof. Dr. Osman Erganiş have made important contributions to vaccine science. Stating that as a platform, they are working on the development of 7 different vaccines, including bacterial, viral and parasitic, within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 1004 Project, Gürsel said, "I am very confident that we will develop many new vaccine formulations and new vaccine platforms, even if we cannot do what we have planned within the scope of the project.

We have many friends who did this during the Covid -19 process. We tried to realize what Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of TÜBİTAK, asked us to do. We continue our work with the idea that our platform and ecosystem should continue. By expanding our platform - as long as there are achievements and resources - we have the opportunity to develop and grow new projects. My other hope is that we can include projects to develop therapeutic vaccines against complex and chronic diseases that occur in the foot. Therefore, we need to develop a good performance in this regard so that TÜBİTAK believes in us and allocates a budget for it. I hope we will remember this day in the meetings we will hold at Selçuk University in the future, where we will discuss these issues."
