Selçuk University has once again returned with an award from the 2025 IMMIB Industrial Design Competition!

The 21st edition of the competition was held, with the Selection Committee comprising renowned designers, professionals from the Industrial Designers Professional Association, senior executives from industry organizations that have become brands in Turkey and worldwide, and IMMIB officials.

This year's concept for the competition was Creative Solutions and Designs for Unpredictable Situations. Bedirhan Yıldız, a student in the Industrial Design Department of Selçuk University's Faculty of Fine Arts, won third prize with his design called SOS Float.

Aiming to provide a quick and safe response to drowning incidents, which frequently occur in seas and lakes, the design transforms existing boundary buoys into active rescue tools in emergencies. The SOS Float design is a compact, ergonomic, and user-friendly safety equipment.

The IMMIB Industrial Design Competitions are organized by the Istanbul Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters' Association nd the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters' Association. The competition is supported by the Industrial Designers Professional Association (ETMK), the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), and the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey.
