“NATIONAL AND MORAL VALUES ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO US”
Emphasizing that Selçuk University is an educational institution that creates culture and maintains the culture in Konya, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, “There is a country that is expected all over the world, and that is Turkey. The mission and vision of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences are very important. Religious and cultural education, national and spiritual values are very important for us. Creating a society that is integrated with the values of our ancestors brings a healthy structure to the fore. That is our concern. As Selcuk University, we strive to train young people on these values. We must protect the young people that families have entrusted to us. We work by making young people feel that they are the future of this society. Selçuk University contributes to the transformation and change of this city. It carries the culture of this city.”
“WE STRIVE FOR SELÇUK UNIVERSITY TO BE REGARDED AS AN EXAMPLE ”
Stating that they are renovating the physical spaces in order for the students to receive education in better conditions, Rector Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, “We are making an effort to make Selçuk University an example in every field at the point of transformation of the city. We are trying to put forward a vision for our students. Despite the global economic crisis, we continued our investments. We do not accept a management mentality that is stuck between four walls. We constantly come together with our students and staff and listen to them. If managers set an example, society will change faster. We have taken many steps towards strengthening our technical infrastructure and enriching the database in our library. We want our academics to devote their energies to research and production.” he said.
“WE PROVIDE EDUCATION AT INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS”
Reminding that 21 million TL last year and 30 million TL this year were transferred to academicians through scientific research projects, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, “We encourage each of our academicians to go abroad. Our academics should set an example for our youth to build their future. We cannot expect people who are mentally confused to give a good education. We now provide education at international standards. We want our academics to take part in scientific studies, to see the changing and transforming world in the international arena, but not to break away from their society. We strive to move our university to much better places. Selçuk University is a university that has reached a 99 percent occupancy rate today. Students who are in the top 20 in the Higher Education Institutions Exam prefer Selçuk University.”
