At Selcuk University, ‘The place and importance of women in Mevlana’ was discussed

Selcuk University Beysehir Ali Akkanat Tourism Faculty  a panel on "The Place and Importance of Women in Mevlana" was held.

To the panel held under the moderation of Beyşehir Ali Akkanat Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Abdullah Karaman, Selçuk University Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Kamil Beşoluk, Dean of Selçuk University Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Onur Köksal, Director of Huğlu Vocational School Assoc. Dr. Erkan Akgöz, Ministry of Culture and Tourism Konya Turkish Sufi Music Ensemble Director, Postnishin Fahri Özçakıl, Belgium Brussels Bozar Cultural Center Director Tony Van der Eecken, lecturers, students and guests from France attended.

Beyşehir Ali Akkanat Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Abdullah Karaman, in his speech at the opening of the panel, wished that the program would be beneficial to all humanity and said, “While describing the woman, Mevlana expressed it as "the light of God". In our system of values, we use the expression woman with the mother. We say: 'Paradise is under the feet of mothers.' If we know this, we will have a very good understanding of where the place of woman actually lies in our cultural codes.” he said.

Selcuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken and Hz. He said that they came together to internalize the wisdom of Mevlana. Expressing that women have an important place in Anatolian yeast, Prof. Dr. Eken said, “When we compare it with Pir, there is a vast difference between the perspectives of Tolstoy, Goethe and Nietzsche on women. In that respect, we need to know the value of Pir and realize it. First of all, the wisdom of how and in what way we will treat women, what are the reasons for our existence, first of all, we need to look from Mevlana's window."

Hz. Mevlana's 22nd generation grandson, Author Dr. hc. Esin Çelebi Bayru made a presentation on "Women in History and Mevlevi". The importance of women in Islam and Mevlevi, explaining the place and importance of women in different civilizations, especially the value given to women by our Prophet Muhammad and Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Bayru said that Islam entrusts women and men to each other.

Mevlana lover and writer Carole Latifa Ameer made a presentation on “Women Figures in Mevlana Education and Their Symbolic Explanations”. Noting the importance of benefiting from Mevlana's wisdom, Ameer talked about the woman through the figures in the Mesnevi.

Selcuk University retired faculty member Prof. Dr. Abdullah Öztürk made a presentation on “Women's Wisdom Overcome False Clerics Who Display Hypocritical Behavior Against Themselves”. Expressing that Mevlana's values ​​are universal, Öztürk said that among these values ​​is the value he gives to women.

The program ended with the presentation of plaques and gifts to the panelists.
