POMO Postal Art Exhibition opened at Selcuk University

Selcuk University Faculty of Fine Arts Graphic Department Lecturer Prof. Dr. The 4th International POMO Postal Art Exhibition, curated by Hikmet Şahin, was opened.

The opening of the POMO IV (Postmodern) International Postmodern Exhibition, curated by Selcuk University Faculty of Fine Arts Graphic Department Lecturer Prof. Dr. Hikmet Şahin, was attended by Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Ali Atıf Polat, Dilek Sabancı State Conservatory Director Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karakaya, academicians and students.

"80 WORKS OF 950 ARTISTS FROM 38 COUNTRIES ARE BEING EXHIBITED"

 

Stating that the theme of the POMO exhibition, which is held every year and has become traditional, is postmodern, Prof. Dr. Hikmet Şahin said that postmodernism is defined as the artistic equivalent of free expression in today's art, and the abbreviation POMO is the abbreviation of the concept of postmodern in world literature. He said they opened their first POMO exhibition in 2019 with the participation of 925 artists from 35 countries with over 2,000 works. Reminding that the exhibition took place virtually in 2020 with 685 artists and 850 works from 45 countries due to the pandemic, Prof. Dr. Şahin spoke as follows: “1080 works of 950 artists from 38 countries are being exhibited in the exhibition this year. POMO Postal Art exhibitions play a very important role in the presentation and promotion of our university, the material and spiritual values ​​of Konya, and the history, art and culture of our country. I would like to thank Our Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, who was kind enough to accept his Honorary Presidency and I would like to thank our Dean Prof. Dr. Ali Atıf Polat, Head of Graphics Department Prof. Dr. Harun Hilmi Polat, the organizing members, Advisory, Promotion and Exhibition Boards, all the participants who gave color to our exhibition with their works, and also our students who contributed to the preparation of the exhibition.”

Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Ali Atıf Polat said, “I would like to thank all the participants. Our friends, who have sent their works from many parts of the world, also have demonstrated a good type of communication. I would like to thank our management and other friends for their support. We do not cut ribbons at our exhibition openings to avoid waste, and we will open our exhibitions in an environmentally friendly manner as much as possible in the future.”
