ACADEMIC BOARD MEETING WAS HELD AT SU CIVIL AVIATION SCHOOL

Selcuk University (SU) Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy attended the 2022 - 2023 Academic Board Meeting organized by the School of Civil Aviation.

Selcuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said in his speech  that the civil aviation college has an important international counterpart. Stating that SU School of Civil Aviation is among the newly established units, Prof. Dr. Aksoy stated that they are also working on the creation of application areas within the college.

Prof. Dr. Aksoy stated that the School of Civil Aviation is highly preferable in the field of aviation in Turkey, especially in field services and training intermediate staff. Explaining that as Selcuk University, they received some requests about the field, Prof. Dr. Aksoy continued his speech as follows: “Because this field is highly preferable, combined with the Selcuk University identity, we receive very different demands. Various cooperation offers are coming, ranging from pilot training to aviation training, especially the Turkish Aeronautical Association. Of course we consider them. From time to time, discussions are held on track-related issues. There are offers to buy various devices related to the app. Besides getting them, it is of great importance that they are sustainable. Civil Aviation School is a much more preferred department as it trains intermediate staff. I can say that their popularity have also increased over time.”

SU Civil Aviation School Director Prof. Dr. Recai Kuş, on the other hand, made presentations on different topics such as the number of projects, academic activities, social responsibility projects, physical and technical infrastructure. Stating that the School of Civil Aviation has made significant contributions to the sector and universities, Prof. Dr. Kuş said: “In addition to increasing the recognition of our university, our college will also contribute to its competitiveness with other universities operating in this field. In addition, we aim to contribute to the internationalization of our university by collaborating at the national and international level in the field of aviation. We see these initiatives as a window to the world. We have five sections and two are active. Currently, there are no students in our other departments. We have 186 students in the Airframe and Engine Maintenance Department and 324 students in the Aviation Management Department.”
