Selcuk University hosted KA171 Information Meeting

Selçuk University Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinatorship hosted the "Erasmus+ 2023 Term International Credit Mobility (KA171) Information Meeting" organized by the Turkish National Agency for the academic staff working in the Erasmus and Foreign Relations departments of universities in Turkey.

Selcuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken said that international mobility is very important for every university at the meeting held at the Sultan Alparslan Cultural Center. Stating that Turkey has made serious contributions to such European Union grant programs, Prof. Dr. Eken said, “In recent years, both our University and other universities have been contributing to EU Projects with their projects. We also see serious contributions. At the meeting we held in this context, the participants will give important information about KA171. It's a different project. There is an ongoing structure with partner countries other than EU countries and candidate countries. The application period has just begun and will continue until February 23, 2023. In this context, the academic units of our University can follow the relevant websites and contact our Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator. We want Selcuk University to take an important share from this project. Thus, we aim to increase the internationalization rating of our University.” he said.

Selçuk University Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator Assoc. Dr. Zerrin Savaşan thanked the Turkish National Agency, the University administration and her team for their contribution and support in the organization of the meeting. Assoc. Dr. Savaşan wished the meeting to be successful and fruitful.

Turkish National Agency KA171 Coordinator Dr. Selen Tokgöz and KA171 experts gave general information on International Credit Mobility. Dr. Tokgöz said, “We have been taking and running the projects since 2015. We receive applications ranging from 80 to 90 to 100. However, we have more than 200 ECHE holding institutions. In recent years, our number of applications has been in the 90-100 band. Although our grant is limited, we wish it to be more. We are working to distribute that limited grant to our universities in a fair and transparent manner. Today we have more than 100 institutions here. We will see how many of them will apply to us. Last year, we supported 89 KA171 projects. Even though the grant we have is roughly the same, we are working to reach more institutions.”

As part of the meeting, Lecturer  Özlem Yelda Dilmen and Dr. Instructor Member Fehim Kuraloğlu shared his experiences on the subject in his presentations. The meeting, where the weaknesses encountered in project applications were also discussed, ended with a question and answer session.
