RECTOR AKSOY ATTENDED THE TEACHERS' DAY PROGRAM

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy attended the program organized for November 24th Teachers' Day at Selcuklu Congress Center.

Konya Governor Vadettin Özkan, Konya Chief Public Prosecutor Halil İnal, Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, Necmettin Erbakan University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Doğan, Provincial Director of National Education Murat Yiğit, MHP Provincial Chairman Remzi Karaaslan, school principals, teachers and many students attended the program.

In his speech at the program, Governor of Konya Vahdettin Özkan said that education is a pioneering field that covers all humanity and contributes to individual and social development. Congratulating the teachers on November 24th Teachers' Day, Özkan said, "Our teachers, who have been instrumental in raising our children by making great sacrifices in the remotest corners of Anatolia as soon as they graduate, have been the pioneers of development as well as individual development. Apart from the teaching profession at school, they are the most important pioneering actors in terms of social unity, integrity, values, values education, further introducing our society to our cultural values, and transferring values to young people. If we talk about development and progress in a country, in a nation, we cannot do without education. Therefore, it cannot happen without teachers. It is the educational activities that give spirit to every sector, provide direction and contribute to development. As a manifestation of the sacrifices made by our teachers, I would like to point out that our civilization and culture have a high degree of trust in science, wisdom and teachers. This should not be weakened today. The trust in our teachers should be constant. This is also proportional to the respect we have for the upbringing of future generations."

Governor Özkan added that all areas, especially teachers, families and the health community, have important responsibilities in the fight against addiction.

Provincial Director of National Education Murat Yiğit said, "I commemorate with gratitude all our teachers who raised Sultan Alparslans, Osman Gazis, Fatihs, Abdulhamids, Mustafa Kemals, who taught that our beloved nation could never be chained in the midst of many difficulties, destructions and wars in every period of our history, and who guided their hearts and minds to truth and reality, not to those who are wrong and false. I sincerely congratulate all our teachers who have passed on their knowledge, which is clothed with wisdom, from generation to generation without recognizing the boundaries of time and space; who have taken the path in the path of Mevlana, Aksamseddin, Molla Gürani, Hacıveyiszade. I respectfully commemorate our teachers who carry and will carry the flag that Yusuf Elitas, Aybüke Yalcin, Necmettin Yılmaz, Arzu Ozsoy, Aysenur Alkan and many other martyred teachers, whose names I cannot mention here, have passed on."

In the program, retired teacher Sami Doğru and Dursun Fakih Anatolian High School Turkish Language and Literature Teacher Hilal Şimşek Eğer also made a speech in memory of the day.

The program continued with the presentation of "Certificate of Service Honor" to the retired teachers by Governor Özkan.
