Academic Board Meeting held at SU Faculty of Medicine

Selcuk University Faculty of Medicine 2022 - 2023 Academic Year Academic Board Meeting was held with the participation of Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy.

Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken, Prof. Dr. Ilhan Ciftci and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat, Dean of the Faculty Prof. Dr. Yavuz Selvi, Chief Physician of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Koplay and academics attended the meeting. Making the opening speech of the meeting, Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Yavuz Selvi said, “Our vision is to be a leading medical school that enables education and teaching staff to develop themselves, to provide students with a scientific perspective, and to train multi-faceted physicians, as well as to be a science center that uses information in the most accurate way and can produce new information, and that can cooperate with contemporary, dynamic, national and international centers. Our mission is also to train physicians who are fully equipped with professional knowledge and skills, respectful to ethical values, competent in their field, have effective communication skills, adopting the principle of service to humanity, thinking rationally and innovatively, social and able to develop themselves. In addition, we aim to be a medical school that allows the training of academics who have a spirit and can conduct original and scientific research.”

“SELÇUK UNIVERSITY HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PIONEER IN HEALTH”

Emphasizing that doctors are fighting on the frontline during the epidemic, Selcuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy also said, “As Selcuk University, we came out of this struggle with a clear conscience. Our university has always been a pioneer in health-related studies and will continue to be a pioneer. We strive to move our university to better levels. We have reached 30 million liras in the support given to scientific research projects. Many steps have been taken, such as the licensing of the Mehmet Emin Bakdemir Cerebral Palsy Unit at the Faculty of Medicine Hospital, the opening of the Phase Center, Gene Therapy Center and Simulation Center.”

“WE ARE RAISING EDUCATION STANDARDS”

Stating that scientific studies cannot be ignored, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, “We are proud of being the first in the history of Selcuk University. We are raising the education standards at our university. We are increasing the application areas. We are revealing modern application methods while we attach importance to projects and internationalization. We are investing in the future of this generation and in the dreams of children. Application areas were created for our students in the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Theology. We want students who graduated from Selcuk University to be pointed at. We want our academicians to have easy access to databases. We modernize and transform the infrastructure of our University with modern, digital touches and mobile applications. Our university will be a prominent university in 10 years. Selcuk University will raise the children from our lands who were leavend with Anatolian yeast, along with national and spiritual values.”.
