The place and importance of a foreign language in law was explained at Selcuk University

A panel on "The Place and Importance of Foreign Language in Law" was organized by Selcuk University (SU) School of Foreign Languages.

Selcuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy thanked those who contributed to the organization of the panel at the Sultan Alparslan Cultural Center and wished it to be a productive program. Expressing that communication has gained importance with globalization, Prof. Dr. Aksoy stated that foreign language gained value in this sense.

After the opening speech of Rector Aksoy, it was time for the panel moderated by Director of the School of Foreign Languages Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kazım Ürün. Prof. Dr. Ürün stated that as a Vocational School, they are trying to bring the guests who can be role-models in education together with the students.

Konya Chief Public Prosecutor Halil İnal, in his speech describing the definition of law and justice, said that justice is a great institution. Inal, who gave information about the profession of judge and prosecutor and their functioning, explained that giving importance to studies on foreign languages during high school period made serious contributions to professional life. İnal emphasized the importance of working with the aim of being a sought-after person in business life, making good use of time and doing the work with pleasure.

Hasan Ay, Head of the Justice Commission of the Konya Judicial Court of First Instance, made a statement on the judicial judiciary and courts. Recommending "Do your job in the best way possible", Ay stated that there is a distinction between common and uncommon languages in the expert committee. Pointing out that French, English, German, Russian and Arabic are among the common languages, Ay also gave information about the expertise.

  Konya Bar Association President Atty. Oktay Unkur made a statement about the legal profession and bar association work. Noting that law is a developing and growing field, Unkur said, “We need to learn a foreign language in order to have an intellectual background and vision in a world where borders are removed and the economy is globalized. Foreign language is very important for reading and studying. If you know one or a second foreign language professionally, you are ahead of your friends and colleagues when you graduate together. This guides you in your career planning.”

Konya Notary Chamber President Ali Altıner stated that notary public service is a public service and gave information about the profession. Noting that the School of Foreign Languages is a beautiful and difficult school, Altıner added that languages that are not common in law also provide serious benefits in the field.
