The "Function of Supreme Judiciary Bodies" was explained at SU

A conference on “The Functioning of the Supreme Judiciary” was held by the International Law Students Society of Selcuk University Faculty of Law.

In the conference titled "The Operation of the High Judicial Organs", which was held at the Selçuk University Faculty of Law Conference Hall and where Engin Şafak, Retired Supreme Court Judge and Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Law Lecturer, participated as a speaker, Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Kamil Beşoluk, Konya 3rd High Criminal Court President Muhammet Göktaş, Dean of the Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. Haluk Hadi Sümer, academicians and students attended the conference.

“ALL NORMS ARE CREATED ON 3 FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS”

Selcuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken said, “The right to life, education and property are essential for keeping human values alive and for law. All norms are based on these 3 fundamental rights. Legal norms are formed by taking into account the traditions, customs, lifestyles, religious approaches and universal human values in the society. Lawyers, politicians and opinion leaders are working to bring them together in harmony. When this balance in the formation of legal norms is shaken, chaotic environments that do not comply with the genetic structure of society are formed.

“WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO OTHERIZE ANYONE”

Retired Supreme Court Judge and Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Law Lecturer Engin Şafak, who attended the conference as a speaker, explained the functioning of the higher judicial organs. Şafak said, “We should embrace every person who has the honor and virtue of being human, with human brotherhood, without any extrajudicial executions, regardless of any conditions. We have no right to marginalize anyone. Issues that I have not dreamed of, that I cannot even imagine, have blossomed in our country. The world will be bigger than 5. Blood is flowing about human rights; children, young people, mothers and fathers are helpless, but they do not reach a quality that can reach practice from the texts of the European Convention on Human Rights.”

“3 FORCES ARE WORKING IN A COORDINARY FOR THE SUSTAINABILITY OF THE STATE”

Stating that the European Court of Human Rights made biased decisions about our country, Şafak said, “The burden of the Constitutional Court has reached an important dimension after it was opened to individual applications. The Constitutional Court evaluates whether there is a violation of the European Convention on Human Rights or the articles on human rights in the Constitution. The Supreme Court is currently down to 24 circuits. It will decrease day by day. It is expected to become a full case law court. The Council of Judges and Prosecutors consists of 13 members. elects members to the Supreme Court and the Council of State; performs the transfer, assignment and personnel affairs of judges and prosecutors. In the separation of powers, there are 3 main powers that form the roof of the state, namely the legislative, executive and judicial. It has to work in coordination for the survival of the state. I would like to express that in the past, the state suffered a lot due to some personal ambitions. I hope that these forces will act with a consensus-like understanding for the survival of the state, human dignity and virtue, even if there is division among themselves, without causing personal differences.”

At the end of the conference, Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Kamil Beşoluk and Dean of the Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. Haluk Hadi Sümer presented a plaque to Engin Şafak, Retired Supreme Court Judge and Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Law Lecturer.
