Example step from SU Health Services Vocational School

1/23/2025 Coordinatorship of Corporate Communication

Selcuk University Health Services Vocational School has signed an exemplary project. The students gave a wheelchair to a disabled young person with the blue caps they collected.

Another support for the blue cap campaign came from the first year students of the SU Health Services Vocational School Therapy and Rehabilitation Department, Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Program. 7 students started to collect blue caps in order to cause the smiles of private individuals with autism and in need, with the project called “Live Unhindered with Recycling” within the scope of Community Service Practices course. With the collected caps, a wheelchair was purchased for a disabled youth. Director of SU Health Services Vocational School Prof. Dr. Gulsin Arslan; Dr. Instructor Member Mustafa Güler, Lecturer Akın Gonen and the students who participated in the project visited the family and delivered the wheelchair.

“OUR STUDENTS WILL CONTINUE TO STUDY AS VOLUNTEERS”

Prof. Dr. Arslan said, “Blue cap collection boxes were created by our students in the corridors of the dormitories and at the entrances of the faculties. The caps collected in order to contribute to a disabled-free life contribute to recycling, environmental protection awareness, nature protection and barrier-free living. Our first wheelchair was given as a gift. Our students will continue this work voluntarily despite the end of the course. We would like to thank our teachers, our students who collected the caps, and the family who hosted us at their home.”
