Chairman of YÖK Prof. Dr. Özvar met with students at Selçuk University

President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar met with students at Selçuk University. Answering students' questions, Prof. Dr. Özvar pointed out that Selçuk University is one of the universities with great services to the field of higher education.

“UNIVERSITIES SERVE YOUTH”

Starting his speech by stating that Selçuk University is one of the most rooted universities in Turkey with great services to higher education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar said, “Turkey has captured a very important demographic window of opportunity. The enrollment rate in higher education has reached a significant level in recent years. Now universities have been established in every province. Increasing the capacity of higher education is an opportunity offered by the state to young people who want to study and keep score. The presence of competition will enable you to develop more and do good works.”

“OUR GOAL IS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS”

Advising the students to work hard, Prof. Dr. Özvar said, “As the international visibility and attractiveness of Turkish universities increase, a greater number of not only Turkish students but also international students will study in Turkey. Our goal is to increase the number of international students. New supports are planned for master's and doctoral students. There are around 400,000 postgraduate students and around 100,000 doctoral students in Turkey. I have never seen anyone who works well, goes out of the university, develops a foreign language, is good with informatics, deals with programming, reads day and night at the point of self-development. The network should be built on morality and virtue.”

Answering the questions of the students, the President of the Council of Higher Education Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, then met with Selcuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, Necmettin Erbakan University Rector Prof. Dr. Cem Zorlu, Konya Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, Rector of KTO Karatay University Prof. Dr.  Fevzi Rifat Ortaç.
