International Art and Design' event starts at Selcuk University

Organized by Selcuk University, INAD (International Art and Design) International Art and Design event has started. Within the scope of the 3-day event, besides conferences and exhibitions, a workshop will also be held.

Organized by Selçuk University with the coordination of Project Development and Management Application and Research Center and hosted by the Faculty of Fine Arts and Dilek Sabancı State Conservatory, the opening program of the event was held in cooperation with the Faculty of Communication, Faculty of Architecture and Design.

At the opening of the program, Project Development and Management Application and Research Center Director Prof. Dr. Recai Kuş expressed wish that such events would turn Turkey-Tunisia relations into great projects within the framework of brotherhood and friendship. Stating that presentations will be made in the fields of cartoons and animation, industrial design, graphics, sculpture, painting, ceramics, performing arts, interior architecture, photography, fashion design, landscape architecture and advertising, Prof. Dr. Kuş said, “Within the framework of our event, there are a conference with 22 participants, a group with 3 artists, a group with 26 artists, 7 solo exhibitions, 4 workshops, fashion shows and concerts. At the event, the works of artists and academicians from Selçuk University, 5 universities from Tunisia and the Tunisian Fine Arts Association will be exhibited.”

“THERE IS A CORRELATION BETWEEN DEVELOPMENT AND ART”

Selcuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken also expressed his pleasure to come together at a high-level artistic and scientific event. Stating that there is CORRELATİON between development and art, Prof. Dr. Eken said, “The INAD event, which has a diversity in terms of art and science, includes personal and group exhibitions, fashion shows, concerts, conferences, workshops. Our event, which started at the Dilek Sabancı State Conservatory, will continue at the Faculty of Fine Arts. I would like to thank those who contributed to the organization of such a beautiful artistic and scientific event.”

Tunisia Atav President Vissem Abdelmoula said that they came to Konya with a group of faculty members consisting of 56 people from Tunisia. Explaining that they want to present the artistic activities in Tunisia to the participants, Abdelmoula said, “We came together to present some of our art in different art fields with the cooperation of Selcuk University and 5 universities in Tunisia at the INAD event. I hope we will be able to show our art in a very good way.”

A fashion show in which Tunisian local clothes were exhibited was held in the opening program, where Dilek Sabancı State Conservatory Director Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karakaya and his accompanying lecturers gave a concert. The opening program continued with the opening of the exhibition.

Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Ali Atıf Polat, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design Prof. Dr. Rabia Köse Doğan, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Prof. Dr. Enderhan Karakoç, lecturers, art lovers and students attended the program.
