International Social and Economic Research Student Congress was held at SU

Selcuk University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences organized the 5th ISERSC – International Social and Economic Research Student Congress. Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy also attended the congress.

The 5th International Social and Economic Research Student Congress held online by Selcuk University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Mehmet Göküş, academicians and students from Turkey and abroad.

“CONGRESS WILL REVEAL A VISION FOR YOUTH”

Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, in his speech, said: “Condolences to our university and Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Our teacher Prof. Dr. Mahmut Tekin was a valuable scientist who worked for our University and faculty, served for a long time, and trained many of our friends. It is very important that the 5th International Social and Economic Research Student Congress, which will contribute to the university and present a vision to the youth, brings together academicians and students in a scientific study. We live in a world where there are many new developments in science and technology almost every day. Social sciences are also getting their share from these developments. We are now faced with an academy where mixed-method research has gone beyond the qualitative/quantitative methodology discussions. We have come to a point where it is possible to conduct foreign policy analysis using computer coding languages.”

“SELÇUK UNIVERSITY BECOME A PIONEER IN MANY FIELD”

Stating that the use of cryptocurrencies in international trade has become controversial, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said: “It is still a mystery how far the effects of the possible economic and political consequences that will arise if cryptocurrencies replace currencies such as the dollar and euro, which are valid on a global scale. It is still unknown how blockchain technology, which will make history the institutions and instruments that we can call the cornerstone of macroeconomics, such as central banks, interest rate cuts and increases, can shape the world economy and the future of humanity. The task of preparing for the possibility of a future in which states will lose control over their currencies falls largely on the shoulders of the rising generation. In this context, our congress held today and studies in this direction are very important in terms of revealing a good future vision. Selcuk University has always been the most important science, research and wisdom school in the region. As it is a pioneer in many fields, it is also very valuable with the support it gives to scientific projects and the visionary projects it reveals.”

The aim of this international congress is to provide an environment for young researchers and academicians working in the determined fields to share their ideas, research results and experiences, to support students academically and to create a cultural discussion platform on current scientific developments.

Undergraduate, graduate and doctorate students and academicians studying in social sciences such as Business Administration, Economics, Political Science and Public Administration, International Relations, Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Finance, Econometrics, Sociology and History applied to the Congress and it got started with the participation of the leading researchers.

The 5th ISERSC – International Social and Economic Research Student Congress will end on 23 December.
