Rector Prof. Dr. Aksoy met with high school students

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy attended the talk titled "1 Step to University... Hear Your Profession from the Expert" organized at Selçuklu Anatolian High School.

Selcuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat, General Secretary Prof. Dr. Kamil Beşoluk, Selçuklu Anatolian High School Principal Zafer Sonel, teachers and students participated in the interview titled "One Step  to University... Hear Your Profession from an Expert".  attended.

“WE DIRECT OUR YOUTH TO THE AREAS THAT OUR COUNTRY NEEDS”

Stating that Selçuk University is one of the most popular research, science and wisdom centers of the region, Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said, "We canalize our studies that are worthy of the identity and culture of our university, taking part in international transformation and following the discussions in higher education. We try to present the discussions in the international arena to our youth by combining them with local dynamics and bringing them together with our own national and spiritual culture. We ensure that our young people are canalized towards the strategic areas that our country needs. From the defense industry to the pharmaceutical industry in the Faculty of Medicine, from domestic and national vaccine studies to various fields in technology, from raising our own values in literature, we are trying to guide our young people in the fields that our country needs together with all modern education systems."

Reminding that Huğlu Vocational School has reached a position to produce all parts of a rifle, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, "Our students are very valuable to us. It is very important that young people with good morals, national and spiritual values succeed. Selçuk University is the locomotive of the region, a pioneering educational institution. In the latest rankings, we are among the top 15 in Türkiye. The occupancy rate is 99.35 percent and this rate never decreases. Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Bekir Bozdağ, Minister of Justice, Uğur İbrahim Altay, Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality and Ahmet Pekyatırmacı, Mayor of Selçuklu Municipality are graduates of Selçuk University. During the spring festivities, we organized events that would bring the children of this country together and showcase the values that make us who we are, as well as the performances of our own students. We strive to provide a comfortable environment for the students. We want our students to grow up as useful sons and daughters for our country and nation. As a university, we need to keep Konya's madrasah traditions alive in the modern era. Let's raise our young people in such a way that even when they go to the international arena, they will be the students who are pointed fingers."

Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken said, "Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine is preferred by the top 6 thousand students, and Faculty of Law is preferred by the top 10 thousand students. Our Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, which is in the top 3, is a pioneering faculty in vaccine studies. The mRNA vaccine studies at the Faculty of Medicine continue. Selçuk University is a very prominent university in academic terms. It is also in an advantageous position in terms of social facilities. It is also in the first place in terms of green areas. We are not a thematic university, we have many different departments."

                  "SU IS A UNIVERSITY THAT COMPLETES ITS DEVELOPMENT PROCESS"

Selçuk University Secretary General Prof. Dr. Kamil Beşoluk said, "Selçuk University, which was established in 1975, is one of the first generation universities. It takes a minimum of 20 years for a university to mature and provide students with a full range of educational, social and cultural activities. In this sense, Selçuk University has the identity of a university that has completed its development process. Regardless of which unit you prefer, there are faculty members who can provide quality education, are well-equipped and have gained their academic identity in every unit."

                             "YOU SHOULD MAKE YOUR PROFESSION YOUR GOAL"

Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat said, "You need to analyze yourself well when deciding which profession to choose. Strategy is very important. You should make the profession you choose a goal. After that, it should be decided which university to attend. One's skills and character are very important. Always do what you love. Do not choose professions that do not suit you, do not fit your talents and personality."

At the end of the program, Zafer Sonel, Principal of Selçuklu Anatolian High School, presented a plaque to Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat and Secretary General Prof. Dr. Kamil Beşoluk, who also answered the questions of the students.
