Selçuk University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Gerontology organized a trip to Mevlana Museum for earthquake victims staying in Şemsi Tebrizi KYK Girls' Dormitory and Sadreddin Konevi KYK Girls' Dormitory affiliated to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Dean of the Faculty Prof. Dr. Emine Arslan said, "Our country is going through difficult times due to the earthquake of the century, the epicenter of which is Kahramanmaraş. But as a country, as a nation, as a state, we have become one heart and we are trying to heal our wounds. I wish mercy to those who lost their lives, a speedy recovery to those who were injured, and patience to those left behind. Get well soon to all of us. Our elders are our social memory that sheds light on our future with their experience and knowledge, keeping the past alive and transferring our national culture and values to the future. Our nation has been the representative of a culture that enables us to approach our elders with respect and love, who have made great efforts in helping us reach today. The feelings of gratitude and care shown to the elders always make their presence felt in our society. All kinds of opportunities provided for our elderly people to live in dignity, trust and peace are the expression of our gratitude to our elders who have spent most of their lives serving their country. I would like to thank our Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, our Vice Rectors, Konya Metropolitan Municipality and Konya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports for their support."
