Prof. Dr. Gülşin Arslan, Director of Vocational School of Health Services, said in her speech: "April 2, 2008 was declared as 'World Autism Awareness Day' by the United Nations in order to raise awareness about autism and find solutions to problems related to autism. Autism is a neurologically based disorder that develops from birth. Autism, whose symptoms appear within the first three years of life, negatively affects individuals' social communication and behavior. The most effective treatment method is special education for autism. Autism is not a deficiency but a difference. I would like to thank our Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, our academicians, students and sponsors for their support in organizing the event."

The spiritual pleasure of working with them, the light in their eyes, the goal achieved is worth the world. Only their valuable families and educators who love them without judgment and witness their development can know the happiness of seeing the huge world that children hide in their tiny hearts and entering that world."
