Materials prepared for the education of individuals in need of special education were exhibited
The works prepared by the students of Selçuk University Vocational School of Health Services (Vocational School of Health Services) for pre-school education and education of individuals with special needs within the scope of the course were presented to the visitors at the exhibition "Educator Develops Materials".
The exhibition, which was opened at the Sultan Alparslan Cultural Center, included the works prepared within the framework of the Child Care and Youth Services Department 1st Class 1st Term "Developing Tools and Equipment in Education" course and the Therapy and Rehabilitation Department 2nd Class 3rd Term "Developing Tools and Equipment for People with Disabilities" course.
Director of Vocational School of Health Services Prof. Dr. Gülşin Arslan said that the exhibition was prepared with the supports of Assistant Professor Ayşegül Sarıkaya from Child Care and Youth Services Department and with the support of Akın Gönen from Department of Therapy and Rehabilitation. Stating that the works prepared for both pre-school students and students requiring special education were brought together in the exhibition, Arslan said, “This is the first time such an exhibition was held at Selçuk University. “I thank those who contributed.”
Dr. Lecturer Member Ayşegül Sarıkaya stated that the students carried out successful studies and said, “It is very important that our studies are educational and harmless to children. It is very valuable for us that it has an impact on the concepts we will teach and appeals to the right age group.”
Lecturer Akın Gönen stated that the students received information about the importance of the material for about 6-7 weeks, and in the rest of the semester, they began to present works by examining different works presented in line with the material needs of individuals with special needs.
The exhibition can be visited between 11.00 and 16.00 for two days.
