Students visited Selçuk University Museum

Earthquake-survivor students staying in the dormitories of Selçuk University Alaeddin Keykubat Campus visited the Selçuk University Museum as part of the Museum Week activities. Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy informed the students about the artifacts.

Earthquake survivor students staying at KYK Student Dormitory visited Selçuk University Museum as part of the Museum Week activities. Prof. Dr. Aksoy welcomed the students with gifts and gave information about the artifacts exhibited in the museum and said, "Students are our future. They will serve our country in the future. May God keep their paths clear. It is very valuable for our students to visit museums where historical artifacts are exhibited."

After the tour, the students watched an animated movie about historical artifacts.

Selçuk University Museum, which is the most modern museum of Konya, which was the seat of the Seljuks, has approximately 2,500 artifacts from different continents and civilizations. The museum, which is prepared in the concept of an art center and is the first of its kind in Turkey in terms of collection richness, also features stone coverings on the exterior of the museum. The museum, where modern and traditional architectural elements are used together, is the first museum established within Selçuk University. The museum, which includes classrooms, offices and a conference hall, is one of the rare university museums in Turkey. Opened with a ceremony attended by Higher Education Council President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, the Selçuk University Museum's collection includes artifacts from Aztec, Inca, Mayan, Chinese and Japanese civilizations as well as some cultures in Africa.
