Selçuk University continued its rise in THE Impact Ranking 2023

Selçuk University, which has gained the appreciation of the scientific community with its sensitivity to the environment and the projects it has implemented in this field, ranked 1st in Türkiye in the field of "Reducing Inequalities" according to the results of the 2023 Impact Ranking prepared by Times Higher Education (THE). Selçuk University also ranked in the top 10 in many other fields.

Selçuk University, which has taken many steps to make environmental awareness permanent in the young people it prepares for the future, ranked 1st in Turkey in the field of "Reducing Inequalities" according to the results of THE Impact Ranking 2023, one of the world's leading university ranking organizations. Selçuk University ranked 2nd in "Zero Hunger", "Quality Education" and "Life on Land" and 3rd in "Health and Quality of Life", "Clean Water and Sanitation", "Sustainable Cities and Communities", "Climate Action" and "Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions".

Selçuk University, which does not compromise on sustainable nature and healthy people and aims to create a "Sustainable Green Campus and Healthy Living Environment on Campus" in its activities carried out in the physical structures on its campuses, ranked 5th in Turkey in the fields of "Responsible Consumption and Production" and "Partnerships for Purposes"; 6th in Turkey in the fields of "End Poverty", "Decent Work and Economic Growth" and "Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure"; 7th in Turkey in the field of "Accessible and Clean Energy"

Ranked 41st among 1,304 universities in the field of "Quality Education" and 97th among 873 universities in the field of "Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure", Selçuk University rose 400 places in the general ranking from 801 - 1000 to 401 - 600. Selçuk University ranked in the top 7 in Turkey in 15 different fields.

Times Higher Education (THE), the world's leading higher education ranking organization, provides important data in its Impact Rankings,  measure the performance of universities against the 17 main problems of the world identified by the United Nations (UN) and the Sustainable Development Goals proposed as solutions to them.

The ranking by Times Higher Education (THE), a UK-based higher education rating agency, evaluates the social, economic and environmental practices of higher education institutions around the world and reveals their contribution to the world in the field of sustainability.

With the protocol signed by Selçuk University, which was selected as a pilot university in the field of "Creating Sustainable and Climate-Friendly Campus" by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), it is aimed to increase energy efficiency and renewable energy applications in university campuses and to create campuses that are sustainable energy efficiency, compatible with nature and minimize damage to the environment. Selçuk University, which also hosted the Sustainable and Climate Friendly Campus Project Pilot Universities Meeting attended by the President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Hasan Suver and rectors, has the 431st greenest campus in the world.

According to the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2022, Selçuk University ranked 431st among the world universities this year, up 167 places compared to the previous year, and ranked 36th among the universities ranked in Turkey, up 9 places. Selçuk University ranked 27th in the energy and climate change category and 32nd in the education category in Turkey, and 376th in the "energy and climate change" category in the world. Selçuk University had the best evaluation in innovative programs and green building practices in the category of "energy and climate change"; in the category of "settlement and infrastructure", Selçuk University reached the best evaluation score in the forest-covered campus area. Selcuk University, which was selected as a "Specialized University" in the field of Digital Technologies in Agriculture by the Council of Higher Education, has also carried out many events such as the "100th Year Agriculture Workshop".
