Wall painting activity organized to make the hospital enjoyable for children

Selçuk University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting and Konya Metropolitan Municipality Building Control Department organized a wall painting activity in Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department and Pediatric Health and Diseases Polyclinics.

Lecturers, students and graduates of the Department of Painting painted on the interior walls of the Pediatric Emergency Department and Pediatric Health and Diseases Polyclinics of Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine Hospital in a way that pediatric patients would enjoy.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Dalkıran, the head of the Department of Painting at Selçuk University Faculty of Fine Arts, said in his statement that they carried out the event in cooperation with the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Building Control Department City Workshop within the scope of volunteering and social responsibility. Prof. Dr. Dalkıran stated that the students of the department in Konya and the senior students in the workshop groups took part in the event and said, "Apart from that, there were those who said 'we would volunteer' from our graduates. We are in the 3rd week of the event. It is very busy on weekdays because there are patients. For this reason, we cannot work. Therefore, we worked on weekends. We came very early in the morning on Saturday and Sunday. We worked until late at night. We painted the pediatric polyclinics and the pediatric emergency room."

Stating that the students voluntarily took part in the event by making sacrifices during the final exams, Dalkıran said, "As a faculty, we care about such projects. Thankfully, our University always supports us in this regard. Our Rector and Vice Rectors care about social responsibility projects. We are finalizing the project with the support of our Dean Prof. Dr. Ali Atıf Polat. We completed our activity with 20 people as a team."
