Graduates of postgraduate education at Selçuk University wore their robes

Selçuk University 2022 - 2023 academic year doctoral and master's graduates wore their robes at the "Graduation and Award Ceremony" organized by 7 institutes.

Graduates who successfully completed their postgraduate education at Selçuk University experienced the joy of graduation at the ceremony organized by the Institute of Educational Sciences, Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences, Mevlana Research Institute, Health Sciences Institute, Seljuk Research Institute, Social Sciences Institute and Turkic Studies Institute at the Sultan Alparslan Cultural Center.

Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr.Metin Aksoy, Vice Rectors Prof.Dr.Emrullah Eken, Prof. Dr. İlhan Çiftci and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat, General Secretary Prof.Dr.Kamil Beşoluk, deans, directors of colleges, vocational schools and institutes, lecturers and families attended the ceremony.

In his speech, Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said that he was very happy to share the excitement of the students at the graduate graduation ceremony held for the first time in the history of the University. Thanking those who contributed to the organization of the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, “As postgraduate education graduates, you are completing an important period of your life as of today and taking your first steps into a new track. You have completed an important process in your life by graduating from Selçuk University, one of the deep-rooted, strong and dynamic universities of our country. As a matter of fact, we see that our University has become a higher education giant at international standards with more than 68 thousand students and over 7 thousand staff on its 48th Anniversary. Our University has reached the level of becoming a city on its own, with its dormitories, hospital, shopping mall, stadium, Olympic swimming pool, equestrian facilities and many more in its 11 million square meter campus, most of which is covered with green areas. Moreover, it can present its potential on a global scale by hosting large-scale international events such as the 'Islamic Solidarity Games', and today it can be selected as a pilot university by the Council of Higher Education for important national initiatives such as the 'Sustainable and Climate-Friendly Campus Project'.”

“OUR SCIENTIFIC STUDIES FIND RESPONSE AT INTERNATIONAL LEVELS”

Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy stated that Selçuk University was ranked in the top 7 in Türkiye in the evaluation made by THE Impact Ranking, one of the world's leading ranking organizations, in 15 different fields in 2023. Explaining that the university has moved its success ranking to the top in EduRank 2023 data and that the scientific studies carried out have found response at international levels, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said, “8 scientists from our university managed to enter the list of 'The World's Most Influential Scientists' as a result of the research conducted by Stanford University. Our University became the 431st greenest campus in the world in the UI Green Metric World University Ranking 2022 list, which evaluates higher education institutions in the areas of sustainable, energy efficient, nature-friendly and environmentally friendly. Again, our University ranked 1st in Türkiye in the 2023 Barrier-Free University Awards with 37 flag awards given by the Council of Higher Education. It was also accredited by the Higher Education Quality Board and its accredited and quality processes were registered. Our University, which is the 'R&D and Innovation Base' of the region with its Konya Teknokent and Selçuk Technology Transfer Office, has become a science center today where many advanced technology studies are carried out, from quantum efficiency measurement to recombinant DNA studies and vaccine studies, where thousands of people are healed with surgeries performed in its hospital, where buildings and bridges are designed, electric vehicles and hyperloop are built, and awards are received at TEKNOFEST."

Following Prof. Dr. Aksoy's opening speech, Selçuk University 2022 - 2023 academic year graduate awards and project awards were presented and the graduates were given their robes.
