Rector Aksoy attended the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day events
Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy attended the events organized within the scope of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day in Mevlana Square.
Governor of Konya Vahdettin Özkan, AK Party Konya Deputies Tahir Akyürek, Selman Özboyacı, Ziya Altunyaldız, Mehmet Baykan, Orhan Erdem, Mustafa Hakan Özer, Meryem Göka, Latif Selvi, 3rd Main Jet Base and Garrison Commander Aviator Pilot Brigadier Önder Şensöz, Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Polat, other protocol members, Selçuk University academic and administrative staff, students and many citizens attended the events.
DİLEK SABANCI STATE CONSERVATORY VOTED HEROIC TURKISH SONGS
The events started with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's "Address to the Nation" speech. The events continued with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem, followed by recitation of the Quran and prayers.
Within the scope of the events, the “Heroes of the Türkiye’s Century 15 July Special Concert” performed by Selçuk University Dilek Sabancı State Conservatory faculty members and students was held. Dilek Sabancı State Conservatory student Tarık Emre Tanık performed as soloist, with Lecturer Assoc. Dr. Nuri Parmaksız “rhythm”, Lecturer Emre Küçükgök performed “oud”, conservatory students Ahmet Bayrakcı performed “percussion”, Muhammed Selman Oğuz performed “ney”, Konya Çimento Fine Arts High School Teacher Metin Dursun gave unforgettable moments to the participants in “qanun”. Heroic folk songs were sung at the concert.
July 15 Cinevision screening and poetry recital were also included. The events, where Dursun Ali Erzincanlı and Ömer Karaoğlu took the stage, ended after the Democracy Watch.
