A Visit to Rector Aksoy from Kyrgyzstan's Ankara Ambassador Kazakbaev

Kyrgyzstan's Ankara Ambassador Ruslan Kazakbaev visited Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy.

Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy thanked Ambassador Kazakbaev for his visit and said that he lived in Kyrgyzstan for nearly 3 years. Stating that they did not feel like living in a foreign country in Kyrgyzstan, Prof. Dr. Aksoy said that “We ate Kyrgyz bread, we drank Kyrgyz water. We told our own children that they were in their own country. Our Kyrgyz brothers embraced us and saw us as their own children. We are our own nation. Even though we haven't had the opportunity to get to know each other for different reasons, we are a nation. Nothing is diminished from our brotherhood and unity. Selçuk University is the University of not only students in Türkiye and Turkish students, but also students in the entire Turkish world. This is their home. Whenever they have a botheration or a problem, Selçuk University is there for them. We strive to ensure that our students from the Turkish world can study comfortably at our University. As long as our unity, effort, endeavor, language unity, cooperation and unity of ideas increase, no one can stand before us.”

Ambassador Ruslan Kazakbaev thanked Rector Aksoy for his hospitality and stated that he came to Konya for the first time as part of his business visits. Kazakbaev said, “Selçuk University is a famous university not only in Türkiye, but also all over the world. In addition to students from different countries of the world, you also have many students from the Turkish world at the university. You are making great efforts to ensure their education, we thank you."

The visit, accompanied by Kyrgyzstan's Ankara Embassy Attaché Begimai Bakytbek and 2nd Secretary Kilitbek Rahmanberdiev, ended with the presentation of gifts.
