Selçuk University students participated in the Arabic Language Education Program in Jordan

Students of Selçuk University Faculty of Islamic Sciences participated in the "Arabic Language Education Program" organized in Jordan with the support of Selçuk University Rectorate, Selçuk Islamic Sciences Association and philanthropists. Students had the opportunity to learn Arabic in its center, society and geography.

 

14 students from Selçuk University Faculty of Islamic Sciences had the opportunity to improve their Arabic by participating in the Arabic Language Education Program at the language center "al-Mu'cem" in Amman, the capital of Jordan.

 

Selçuk University Faculty of Islamic Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Ramazan Altıntaş said that the language course was completed successfully. Stating that with this course, students had the chance to practice in a country where Arabic is spoken and also had the opportunity to get to know Arabic culture closely, Altıntaş said that they wished the course programs to continue in the coming years.

Stating that the students who were successful in the Arabic exam went on August 5 and returned on September 12. Prof. Dr.Altıntaş said, “Students staying in the Maarif Foundation dormitory went through processes such as speaking, writing and listening to Arabic.They both attended courses and visited places that are very important in terms of Islamic history.They visited places such as the Jordan Museum, Salt city and Salt Turkish Martyrdom, Hejaz Railway Amman Station, the Dead Sea, the areas where the Battle of Mute took place, and the graves of the companions."

Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Rhetoric, Faculty of Islamic Sciences Assoc. Prof. Dr.Hasan Uçar said, “Our students were subjected to a training process of 25 hours per week.Our students had the opportunity to visit different cities in Jordan outside of class.They tried to learn the language in its center, society and geography.It was a very useful trip.”

 

Abburrakip Orhan, one of the students who attended the course, said: “We received Arabic training in Amman for approximately 40 days.After the lessons, we had the opportunity to visit historical and cultural places.We tried to improve our Arabic by communicating with the people of Jordan. I principally thank our Rector Prof. Dr.Metin Aksoy, our Faculty Dean Prof.Dr.Ramazan Altıntaş and Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Rhetoric, Faculty of Islamic Sciences Assoc. Prof.Dr. Hasan Uçar for their contributions.”
