The 13 international scientist attended the congress hosted by Selçuk University
New Frontiers of Natural Sciences: 2nd International Selçuk Meeting (NFNS 2023) Congress hosted by Selçuk University Faculty of Science within the scope of the 100th Anniversary of Turkish Republic Activities started. At the congress attended by scientists from different disciplines of natural sciences from Türkiye and around the world, biological sciences, macro/micro/nano materials and applications, catalysis, energy storage technologies, linear and non-linear optics, renewable energy sources, sensors and photonics will be discussed.
At the opening of the congress, Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken said that valuable scientists from different disciplines from 13 countries, especially Germany, the United States, France, Italy, Japan, and Türkiye came together at the congress. Stating that they, as a university, are pleased to host an important congress, Prof. Dr. Eken wished the 2nd congress organized by Selçuk University Faculty of Science to be successful and thanked the speakers and participants.
Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Semahat Küçükkolbaşı stated tha, as the University and Faculty they continue to attach importance to R&D and scientific activities, international collaborations, discussions and joint projects with social added value under the leadership of Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy and his team. Stating that they held the first of the NFNS Congress series last year for this purpose, Küçükkolbaşı said, “Our congress was held extremely successfully and efficiently with the participation of many international and national invited speakers and participants. Within the scope of the 100th Anniversary of Turkish Republic events, the second meeting this year will be held online, hosted by Selçuk University Faculty of Science. For the organization of our congress supported by Selçuk University BAP Office, I would like to thank our Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy, the organizing and scientific committees, the invited speakers and all the participants.
20 invited speakers from different disciplines will take part in the congress, which will be held with the contributions of the Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry and Physics departments within the Faculty of Science of Selçuk University. The main speaker of the congress will be Yury Gogotsi from Drexel University, one of the world's top three most influential scientists in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Yury Gogotsi will share information with the participants about his studies on nanoscience and nanotechnology and the latest developments in the world.
The congress, where more than 200 participants are expected, will end on October 4, 2023.
