Selçuk University student won the Special Jury Award at the 5th Designers Competition

Hasan Utku Usta, a student of Selçuk University Faculty of Architecture and Design, Department of Fashion Design, was awarded the Special Jury Award at Merter Fashion 2023 5th Designers Competition with his collection titled "Deconstructivism" prepared under the supervision of Assist Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Paralı.

Merter Moda 2023 5th Designers Competition brought together fashion enthusiasts, famous designers and young talents. The focus of this year's event, which shaped the future of the industry, was climate change and drought, which has become a global problem. Designs on how fashion can contribute to a sustainable future and environmentally friendly design approaches were discussed at the event.

In the competition which took place with the participation of 50 students from 30 universities in Turkey, 30 students from 11 universities made it to the finals. In the competition where 8 students from Selçuk University Faculty of Architecture and Design, Department of Fashion Design made it to the finals, Selçuk University was the university with the highest number of participants and the highest number of students in the finals.
