" Shoulder Dystocia Management by Simulation Training" training was given at Selçuk University
The project titled "Shoulder Dystocia Management by Simulation Training" prepared by Prof. Dr. Sema Yılmaz, a faculty member of Selçuk University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Midwifery, was entitled to receive support from TÜBİTAK. The training of the project, which was carried out within the scope of 100 Activities in the 100th Year of our Republic, was given at Selçuk Ecza Deposu Simulation Training Center.
Selçuk University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Midwifery Lecturer Prof. Dr. Sema Yılmaz said that 15 midwives, who have master's and doctorate degrees in midwifery departments at different universities and who also work in the field, participated in the trainings held within the scope of the "Shoulder Dystocia Management by Simulation Training" project, and that the travel and accommodation expenses of the participants were covered by TÜBİTAK. Prof. Dr. Yılmaz said, "Shoulder dystocia means that the baby's shoulder gets stuck to the mother's bone during birth. The shoulder does not get stuck very often during labor, but when it does, it is vital for the mother and baby. Here we can save babies with a few maneuvers. It is very important to learn these. In the training, we explain what shoulder dystocia is and what kind of problems it causes in the mother and baby. Participants who receive training on the simulator will learn how to manage the case without errors when they encounter such a case. Thus, mother and baby health will not be harmed."
