Nurses working in earthquake zones were trained at Selçuk University

Selçuk University Faculty of Nursing  Assist. Prof. Dr. Sevil Özkan from Selçuk University Faculty of Nursing and supported by TUBITAK, "Approach to Child Patient in Earthquake in Pediatric Nursing with Simulation Training: Ensuring Fluid Electrolyte Balance" was given at the Selçuk Ecza Deposu Simulation Training Center within the scope of 100 Events in the 100th Year of our Republic.

Emphasizing that Turkey is located in an earthquake zone, Selçuk University Faculty of Nursing, Assist. Prof. Dr. Sevil Özkan said, "During an earthquake, there may be displacement or loss of water in our body due to reasons such as bleeding and trauma. Children are more severely exposed to dehydration. This can be life-threatening. With our project titled 'Approach to Pediatric Patient in Earthquake in Pediatric Nursing with Simulation Training: Ensuring Fluid Electrolyte Balance', we plan to provide our nurses with awareness and professional skills for children. We plan to train nurses with these knowledge and skills both in the field and in field hospitals."

16 graduate students from 13 different universities will participate in the 2-day training. Nurses who have a master's degree in the Department of Nursing and also work in clinics will be given both theoretical and practical training by physicians and nurse academicians who are experts in nursing and medicine from 5 different universities.
