Rector Aksoy visited TRNC President Tatar

Rector of Selçuk University Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy visited the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar.

Stating that Selçuk University is one of the largest and most important universities in Turkey, President Tatar pointed out that the Cyprus issue is not only the national cause of the Turkish Cypriot people and Motherland Turkey, but also of the entire Turkish world and emphasized the importance of "promoting and increasing the visibility of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which successfully defends the Turkish presence and interests in the Eastern Mediterranean".

Prof. Dr. Aksoy said that as the University and the people of Konya, they are always with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Pointing out that they will continue to provide all kinds of support to promote the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and to better understand the importance of the national cause, Prof. Dr. Aksoy stated that they would be honored and happy to see President Ersin Tatar at Selçuk University as soon as possible to award him an Honorary Doctorate.

Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Işıksal, Special Advisor to the President on International Relations and Diplomacy, and Gökhan Güler, Special Advisor to the President, were also present during the visit accompanied by Prof. Dr. Bayram Altan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation of Academics of Islamic Countries.

The visit ended with the presentation of gifts.
