President Altay and Rector Prof. Dr. Aksoy met with students

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay and Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy came together with students in the "University Meetings" program organized by Selçuk University and Konya Metropolitan Municipality Youth Assembly.

Delivering the opening speech of the program held at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Selçuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy said, "We are very happy to host our Metropolitan Mayor Mr. Uğur İbrahim Altay. As Selçuk University, we have always felt the support of the Metropolitan Municipality. I would like to thank them very much. We are a strong educational institution. We are the first university and the apple of Konya's eye. We are an institution that continues the school of knowledge and wisdom handed down to us by our ancestors in the modern university concept."

Stating that he is very pleased with the recent developments of Selçuk University, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay said, "Our Rector Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy has been making serious efforts for the physical structure, social structure and educational life of our University since the day he took office. We are happy to work with him."

Stating that the most advanced part of the culture of democracy develops in local governments and that this process should be carried out with an accountable management approach, Altay noted that Konya is one of the rarest cities in the world and said, "We create physical spaces where our students can study. With the Social Innovation Agency, we are trying to create will and ideas on social issues. We are open to your suggestions. We will work to make your lives easier."

President Altay said, "The world needs a change. The world system built on the axis of the United Nations no longer has a chance to survive. The events in Palestine have shown us that it does not seem possible for the world to achieve peace and tranquility with the structure of the UN. Change and transformation require strong leadership. Turkey is a leading country in its region with its economy, human resources and the recent defense industry move. In Palestine, a genocide is taking place in front of the eyes of the world. The dominant powers of the world, especially the USA, the UK and Germany, are siding with Israel on this issue. We should never forget these experiences. We should consume what we produce ourselves and prefer domestic and national products."

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay also answered the questions of the students at the end of the program.
