'Palestine' themed conference and exhibition at Selçuk University Faculty of Fine Arts

Selçuk University Faculty of Fine Arts organized a conference on "Palestinian Struggle and Poster". "Palestine" themed International Poster and Print Exhibition also met with art lovers at the faculty.

Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Ali Atıf Polat, Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Birsen Limon, faculty members and students attended the events held at the faculty.

Selçuk University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Graphics and Seljuk Youth Assembly organized "International Poster and Print Exhibition" with the theme of Palestine.

Dean Prof. Dr. Ali Atıf Polat, who stated that the exhibition includes the works of designers and artists who are trying to make the voice of Palestinians heard, said that 48 artists from 11 countries, including faculty members, contributed to the exhibition with 74 works. The exhibition can be visited until December 31, 2023.

The exhibition was followed by a conference on "Palestinian Struggle and Poster" organized by Selçuk University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Graphics and Seljuk Youth Assembly. In the conference, Anadolu Agency (AA) General Directorate Graphic News Manager Mevlüt Eren and Anadolu Agency General Directorate Graphic Designer Omar Zaghloul shared their experiences and knowledge with the students.

Eren explained the definitions of information graphics (infographics), the facilitating effects of information graphics in understanding the news, the areas where information graphics are used, the types and categories of information graphics according to their structures. In his presentation, Eren also gave examples of the infographics used by Anadolu Agency in the news coverage of Israel's attacks on the Palestinian people.

Zaghloul shared his professional experiences with examples of the graphics used in the news reports on Israeli attacks.
