'2. International Selçuk Health Sciences Congress’ has started

Organized by Selçuk University Faculty of Health Sciences within the scope of the 100th anniversary of our Republic, "2. "International Selçuk Health Sciences Congress" has started. The congress, which will last for 2 days and where more than 100 papers will be presented, aims to contribute to current discussions in the field of health.

Congress President, Selçuk University Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. At the opening of the congress held at the Sultan Alparslan Cultural Center, Emine Arslan said that, as the Faculty, they created a pleasant and high-quality working environment for the students with their innovative practices such as scientific projects, social responsibility projects, model design for the benefit of humanity, community service projects and the Selçuk Pharmacy Simulation Unit affiliated with the Faculty. Noting that health is a state of bio-psycho-social integrity and that protective and preventive studies have an important place as well as treatment studies in this integrity, Arslan stated that services and treatments should be multidimensional and that they value the principles of sustainability of health.

Arslan; stating that social problems and their effects, especially the climate and energy crisis, wars, poverty, pandemics and natural disasters, are increasingly felt today, he said, “We observe the need for healthcare workers and the development of health policies. As the faculty, we strive to do our part to respond both in the academy and in the field. Therefore, we believe that the research conducted in the field and sharing of this research is of vital importance. In this regard, we organized our congress in order to contribute to the field of health, especially health policies, health education, health services and health research, to respond to current debates and to bring together expert researchers in the field. Approximately 200 participants from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the USA, Italy, Lithuania, Indonesia, Taiwan and 16 provinces of Turkey contributed to our congress. "More than 100 papers will be presented, including students, healthcare professionals, healthcare services, patients, diseases and case reports, as well as research on disadvantaged groups such as women and children." he said.

The congress, which was held with the contributions of Konya Metropolitan Municipality and Karatay Municipality, was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Yavuz Selvi, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Kalaycı, Medical Faculty Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Mustafa Koplay, faculty members from home and abroad, and students attended. Selçuk University Anatolian Caucasian Eagles Community performed at the opening of the congress, where a certificate of appreciation was presented.

At the congress; Emergency aid and disaster management, nutrition and dietetics, child development, language and speech therapy, midwifery, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, audiology, health management, social work, nursing, medicine, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, biology and dentistry will be discussed.
