1/23/2025 Coordinatorship of Corporate Communication

A talk titled "Airport Management in All Aspects" was held by Selçuk University School of Civil Aviation and GÖK-SÜ Aviation Community within the School on the occasion of "7 December International Civil Aviation Day".

Konya Airport unit chiefs of the General Directorate of State Airports Authority shared their experience and knowledge in the field of civil aviation with the students.

Selçuk University School of Civil Aviation Director Prof. Dr. At the opening of the talk held at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Recai Kuş stated that civil aviation has existed in Turkey for more than 100 years and said, "International Civil Aviation Day celebrations have been held since 1944. What happened to Vecihi Hürkuş and Nuri Demirağ; They paused from time to time, sometimes they stopped, but Turkey has never given up on this love. Today we have 57 active airports. This is only a civil airport, we already have military airports. According to newly announced statistics, 200 million passengers were transported in Turkey in the 11-month period of 2023. It is an incredible number in terms of Türkiye's population. It shows that the most important means of transportation in Türkiye and the modern world is civil aviation. Civil aviation has reached an important place in cargo transportation as well as passenger transportation. The importance of this has increased even more with the pandemic. Immediately after February 6, we could not provide transportation by road. We could not reach many of our provinces. Aid planes going to the region landed in different locations, especially Adana and Gaziantep, and tried to deliver aid to earthquake victims by arriving much faster. "We understood once again how important and strategic civil aviation is and how much of a national cause it is." he said.

Prof. Dr. Kuş stated that they strive to raise young people well and try to bring sector representatives together at every opportunity.

During the conversation attended by faculty members and students, congratulatory certificates were presented to faculty members whose academic titles were changed.
