'Entrepreneurship Training Certificate Ceremony' was held at Selçuk University

"Entrepreneurship Training Certificate Ceremony" was held within the scope of the project "Entrepreneurship is Rising in Konya" funded by the European Union, supported by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, under the control of Enhancer Turkey office and carried out by Konya Mobilyacılar Tradesmen and Craftsmen Chamber and with the cooperation of Selçuk University.

Within the scope of university-industry cooperation, "Entrepreneurship Rising in Konya" project "Entrepreneurship Training Certificate Ceremony" was hosted by Selçuk University. Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken, SU Faculty of Architecture and Design Dean Prof. Dr. Rabia Köse Doğan, President of Konya Union of Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen Muharrem Karabacak, President of Konya Mobilyacılar Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen Mehmet Günbaş, Mevlana Development Agency Secretary General İhsan Bostancı, Enhancer Project Officer İbrahim Onur Demirtaş, chamber presidents, academicians and students attended the program.

Delivering the opening speech of the program, Mehmet Günbaş, President of Konya Chamber of Furnishers Tradesmen and Craftsmen, said, "We are the only professional chamber in Turkey to receive support under the Enhancer Project supported by the European Union. On February 7, 2023, within the scope of the 'Entrepreneurship Rising in Konya' project signed on February 7, 2023, the Entrepreneurship Training Center, which we started to operate in our chamber, provided consultancy services to Turkish citizens and Syrians under temporary protection. Applications for the 5 thousand euro entrepreneurship grant support carried out by Enhancer, supported by the European Union, have started to be received. In this context, entrepreneurship trainings were completed. A total of 575 people applied to our Center. A total of 406 people completed the entrepreneurship trainings and were entitled to receive certificates. Our women friends and university students showed great interest in our entrepreneurship trainings. Our certified entrepreneur candidates will prepare their registration and business plans and make their applications for the 5 thousand euro grant support supported by the European Union until December 29, 2023.  Candidates who receive certificates by participating in entrepreneurship trainings during the application will be given an extra 10 points when evaluating the business plan."

Stating that they are ready to provide all kinds of support to the students, Günbaş congratulated the entrepreneurs who were awarded certificates and thanked all the institutions for their support in realizing the project.

Selçuk University Faculty of Architecture and Design Dean Prof. Dr. Rabia Köse Doğan said, "Within the scope of the Enhancer 'Entrepreneurship Rising in Konya' project supported by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and funded by the European Union, we signed a protocol for the entrepreneurship training project in October in partnership with the Faculty of Architecture and Design of our University. Within the scope of this protocol, entrepreneurship training was given to students at the end of October at the Selçuk University Museum Conference Hall. Our undergraduate and graduate students who complete the training, are entitled to receive a certificate and apply for a project to open a workplace will be entitled to receive a one hundred percent grant of 5 thousand euros within the scope of the Enhancer project funded by the European Union.  The Faculty of Architecture and Design of our university consists of undergraduate and graduate students from the Department of Handicrafts, Department of Interior Architecture, Department of Fashion Design, Department of Landscape Architecture. I sincerely believe that our students, who are entitled to receive a certificate, will contribute to the national economy with their entrepreneurial activities while building the new century in the centenary year of our Republic, will be a role model for being a working, producing society, and will set an example for our new students in the trainings to be held in cooperation with the university-industry."

Muharrem Karabacak, President of Konya Union of Chambers of Konya Tradesmen and Craftsmen, said, "University-industry cooperation was very important for us. We have seen a reflection of this here today. Our Chamber of Furniture Tradesmen and Craftsmen is realizing beautiful projects that provide employment. Our union is happy to serve the university and its citizens with its 84 chambers, 61 thousand tradesmen and craftsmen. We will continue to work towards the same goal under the same roof. I congratulate all entrepreneurs who are entitled to receive certificates. We are always ready to provide the contribution we can."

İhsan Bostancı, Secretary General of Mevlana Development Agency, who emphasized the importance of the program being implemented in only 11 provinces in Turkey and the importance of Konya being among them and supporting the project, gave advice to the entrepreneurs to benefit from the advantages of the process and informed them about the projects carried out by MEVKA.

 İbrahim Onur Demirtaş, Enhancer Project Officer, wished the project to be useful for entrepreneurs and emphasized the importance of new collaborations in the future.

Emphasizing that the realization of the project is a great success, Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken said: "The European Union supports innovative and sustainable projects; therefore, you need to prove yourself, struggle and have a serious infrastructure. Therefore, both getting the project accepted and completing it is an important achievement. I would like to thank the managers of all public and private sector organizations that contributed to these projects. We are happy to take part in such quality projects as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our Republic in the Turkish Century. I congratulate all entrepreneurs who are entitled to receive certificates and wish them success."

 After the speeches, Mehmet Günbaş, President of Konya Chamber of Furniture Tradesmen and Craftsmen, presented gifts to all contributing institution managers. At the end of the program, certificates were given to the participants who completed the entrepreneurship training.
