'100 Ideas for the 100th Anniversary of the Republic' poster exhibition met with its visitors

"100 Ideas for the 100th Anniversary of our Republic" poster exhibition prepared by Selçuk University Beyşehir Ali Akkanat School of Applied Sciences met with its visitors. The exhibition, which aims to raise awareness on disaster management, includes 110 posters.

Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department Head Cevdet İşbitirici, Konya Provincial Disaster and Emergency (AFAD) Deputy Director Dr. Halil İbrahim Çiçekdağı, faculty members and students attended the opening of the exhibition held at Selçuk University Museum.

The exhibition prepared by Beyşehir Ali Akkanat School of Applied Sciences was supported by the Department of Emergency Aid and Disaster Management and the Department of Social Work. Konya Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department, Konya Provincial AFAD Directorate, Selçuk University Kadınhanı Faik İçil Vocational School Civil Defense and Firefighting Department, Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF), Konya OSB Fire Department also supported the exhibition.

Beyşehir Ali Akkanat School of Applied Sciences Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mine Taşkın said in his statement that with 110 posters prepared, they discussed the studies on the problems that occurred before, during and after the Kahramanmaraş earthquake. Stating that the idea of opening the exhibition occurred while researching studies on disaster management in Turkey and abroad with students, Taşkın said, "Within the framework of our exhibition work, we wanted to share science and knowledge with our University and raise awareness in many people. We are people living in the earthquake zone, disaster zone. It is our social responsibility duty to convey to all students that disaster is not only an earthquake or flood disaster, but that we face with very wide and different areas. At the same time, as a teacher, we felt that we had to give this to them. We thought that the more people we can touch, the more information we can give, the more successful we will be and we realized our work."

Explaining that they presented the studies carried out in this field to the students as practice as well as theory through the exhibition, Taşkın stated that 9 of the posters were TUBITAK projects and 2 of them were within the scope of Scientific Research Projects. Taşkın stated that the exhibition included one year of work.
