Health management lectured at Selcuk University

Selçuk University Faculty of Health Sciences organized a panel titled "Health Management in the Turkish Century" on the occasion of December 18 Health Managers Day.

Making the opening speech of the panel held at Sultan Alparslan Cultural Center, Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Emine Arslan said, "The demand for qualified health managers is increasing day by day due to the need for health institutions to be managed with a modern business management approach and increasing competition. Health managers have different competencies than other professional managers. We are aware of our duty to be a successful health manager with Selçuk University Faculty of Health Sciences and our strong academic staff."

Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İlhan Çiftci said, "Management has gained a dimension about what kind of reactions people can show in times of extraordinary situations and disasters and how they can provide a useful model to people and society. During the pandemic and earthquake period, we realized how valuable health management is. We have seen how valuable it is to organize the way to reach those people from the center, starting from the dimension of health intervention that needs to be done to those who are pulled out of the rubble in the earthquake zone." 

Following the opening speeches, the moderator was Prof. Selçuk University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Head of Health Management Department. Dr. We started with the panel discussion by Handan Ertaş. Participating in the panel as a speaker, Deputy General Manager of the State Supply Office Dr. Mehmet Koca said, “We currently produce 93 percent of the drugs we use in our country. We export medicine to 185 countries. We must become a brand in health tourism with the Türkiye brand. Our doctors are very good. That's why we see demand from the world. "We are now talking about billions of dollars in health tourism revenues." he said.

Stating that today, leadership is accepted as the ability to influence and direct people regularly and consciously in order to achieve certain goals and objectives, Abdullah Yusuf Uğuz, Head of Internal Control Department of the Strategy Development Directorate of the Ministry of Health, said: “A good leader is not only the one who guides the members of the organization to achieve professional success, but also At the same time, he is someone who instills confidence in them, uses his persuasive ability and often motivates them.” he said.
