Selçuk University had a blast at the Wushu Championship

Selçuk University was at the forefront of the 1st European Wushu Championship organized by the European Wushu Federation in Istanbul between 14 - 17 December 2023.

The 1st European Wushu Championship, organized by the European Wushu Kung Fu Federation (WKFE), was held at Gazanfer Bilge Sports Hall. The Turkish National Team, which won 276 gold, 106 silver and 90 bronze medals in the championship in which 650 athletes from 19 countries participated, became the European Champion. Ukraine came second, while Greece took third place.

In individual races, Selçuk University Faculty of Sports Sciences Sports Management Department student Raziye Nur Emeklilik won two European Championships, while Physical Education and Teaching Department student Burçin Kolaylı took two European third places, and Coaching Education Department master's thesis student Cengizhan Kaynak also won the European third place.
