'My Canvas My Soul Exhibition' met with art lovers

"My Canvas, My Soul Exhibition" prepared by Selçuk University Faculty of Dentistry Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Sema Hakkı within the scope of 100 Events in the 100th Year of the Republic met with art lovers.

Selçuk University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emrullah Eken, at the opening of the exhibition held at Selçuk University Museum, said that everyone can be successful in their own profession, but art is a field that requires a different talent. Expressing that he always appreciated art and artists in this sense, Prof. Dr. Eken said, "Not everyone can be an artist. Our precious Sema Hodja is an important academician recognised in Turkey and the world. She also has the spirit of an artist. We will watch her works together. I would like to thank everyone for your participation."

Prof. Dr. Sema Hakkı, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Periodontology, thanked the participants and those who contributed to the organisation of the exhibition and said, "Prof. Dr. Orhan Cebrailoğlu is my biggest supporter. I took lessons from him for about 5 years. Of course, taking lessons alone is not enough. In this process, you are in an effort to find yourself. It is good for people to do science and research, but after a while it is not enough. You are looking for a field where you will find yourself. In that field, you make your own spiritual journey. I hope you enjoy my works. I mainly started this last move in the USA, in 2020. I participated in many art fairs there. My paintings are now hanging on people's walls in the USA. It is a great pleasure, luxury and a beautiful feeling to think that one can make a living in a field other than one's profession. That's why I recommend it to the new generation of friends; be sure to hold a place in art."

Prof. Dr. Orhan Cebrailoğlu, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, stated that in the history of Selçuk University, there are many lecturers who live science and art together, and that Prof. Dr. Sema Hakkı, who is known for her scientific studies, has carried her success in the field of art to both national and international platforms.

Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Prof. Dr. Abdullah Kalaycı, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Sait Gezgin, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Emine Arslan, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design Prof. Dr. Rabia Köse Doğan, Director of Dilek Sabancı State Conservatory Prof. Dr. Dilek Zerenler, faculty members, students and art lovers attended the exhibition opening.

The exhibition of 42 artworks will be open to visitors throughout January.
