Selçuk University ranks 4th in community-oriented studies
Selçuk University, which carried out effective work with its staff and students during the 6 February earthquake in Kahramanmaraş, ranked 4th among universities in Turkey with 328 social responsibility projects.
According to the data of the Council of Higher Education, 4,668 social responsibility projects are carried out in universities in many fields such as environment, education, disadvantaged groups, culture, arts, sports and animal rights. Of these projects, 3,431 are implemented by state universities and 1,237 by foundation universities.
In this context, Selçuk University, in addition to its education, training and research activities, reaches out to the society with social responsibility projects carried out institutionally and together with students. Selçuk University, which aims to integrate university and society with solution-oriented approaches to social problems, aims to enable students to learn theory and practice together during the education process and to develop their sensitivity to social problems and their ability to produce solutions. Selçuk University, which is among the universities that attract attention with its projects especially for the disabled, children, women, elderly and different segments of the society, stands out with its efforts to meet the needs, solidarity and solidarity.
Selçuk University also showed its integration with the society with the example of solidarity after the earthquake in Kahramanmaraş. Selçuk University, as well as all universities across Turkey, quickly organised and rushed to the region after the earthquake and made extraordinary efforts to meet the needs of the earthquake victims, including search and rescue, health personnel support, medical supplies, food and clothing.
Selçuk University, which supported the earthquake region in many areas such as blood donation campaigns and psychosocial support, provided important examples in the field of social responsibility with the projects it prepared for the region to get back on its feet.
