Industrial crops are consist of cultivated plants that have a high contribution to our national economy within field crops and provide raw material to industrial’s needs. For example, industrial crops such as cotton, tobacco, poppy, and sugar beet create a high added value inflow of foreign currency to our country by exporting the world market as raw material and processed material.
Industrial crops, which are farming in 2.0 million hectares in Turkey, are classified under three main groups, including Fiber and rubber crops, oil crops, and starch and sugar crops. Furthermore, this division having importance economically in Turkey and The World is gained to undergraduate and graduate-level theoretical and practical knowledge to introduce industrial crops, growing technics, and breeding about current and future projects in these areas.
