Turkey has joined the European Union Education and Youth Programmes as a "full member" since 1 April 2004. In this first period, which was realized with intense interest and demand and ended on 31 December 2006, activities were carried out within the framework of Socrates (General Education), Leonardo da Vinci (Vocational Education) Youth programs. Socrates/Erasmus has been open to the benefit of Selcuk University students and faculty members since the 2004-2005 academic year.
Established as of the 2004-2005 academic year, the Socrates-Erasmus Institutional Coordinatorship (with Leonardo da Vinci, Youth and ECTS/DS Coordinatorships) has started working on the execution of the programs at the level of our University.
The European Union Education and Youth Programs have entered a new phase since the beginning of 2007. this period, which covers a period of 7 years until 2013, is called Lifelong Learning Programs (LLP). With LLP, all activities and programmes related to general and vocational education have been taken with a more holistic approach. The Erasmus Program has continuously developed over time, covering other areas of education and youth. The program, which is implemented in 7-year periods under the names of Socrates, Leonardo da Vinci, Lifelong Learning and Youth, has been restructured under the name of “Erasmus +” for the period 2014-2020. The Erasmus Institutional Coordination Office has continued to carry out its studies on the dissemination and execution of the programs successfully throughout these periods.
During the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 period, our coordination office will continue to work under the main headings of Erasmus Fundamental Mobilities (KA 131), International Credit Mobility (KA171), Erasmus+ Projects, European Solidarity Program (ESC), Eurodesk Contact Point, Social and Cultural Activities and Student Societies (ESN and ÇİT).
